The Virus

Two years ago came a virus

The effect of it was disastrous

The spread of the virus was global

And we had to accept this new normal

The mass gathering was announced as unacceptable

Travelling was impossible

As the rise in cases was exponential

And we had to accept this new normal

People were confined to their home

Few turned into philosophers, few 

Began to tone

But together we were all alone

In this endless catacomb

Mask was made mandatory

Handwashing is necessary

Vaccines are satisfactory

This period of time will be remembered in history

People who were jobless

Became extremely restless

As their family were penniless

And they believed God was merciless

Classes were made online

Binging movies and series replaced sleeping at bedtime

Sleep pattern became abnormal

And we had to accept this new normal

The effort put up by our front-line workers is praiseworthy

They are saviours of humanity

Life should continue in spite of the obstacle

And we had to accept this new normal
