The Timeless Clock
The Timeless Clock
Time that would not wait nor stutter
Seems to have struck a deal with its teller
For it stood flawless and perfect among others
Captivating everyone with its splendor.
Hanging by the wall, hooked onto a screw
The archaic clock stood over the anew
It had survived many eras
years and decades too long to count
Outgrew families, outgrew kingdoms
and outgrew its maker who is resting alone.
Oversaw life and death alike in its sight
All it could do was watch peopl
e thrive
Untold winters and summers that would never be apprised
For the time teller was the only one to survive.
Children playing about, and people chattering away
All that was now just a memory within
If it could talk of the stories, it would tell
Never-ending just like the time was,
But now it just hangs there looking over a family,
That stood there with hand in hand in its expose
‘The perfect antique for our home’ the wife chortles
And off to a new story the clock goes.
