The Sound Of Her Silence

The Sound Of Her Silence

2 mins 397 2 mins 397

What is love? The noise in the head or the silence of the heart,

The fragrance of a flower which blooms in winter,

The sadness of the eyes when she is not near,

He says for him love is her presence within him,

She was like the flower which blooms in winter and withers in summer,

She was like the rain which lasted for a season in which they met,

He didn’t have words to express his feelings, before he could say a word she disappeared,

He waited for the seasons to change and the flowers to bloom again,

He waited to smell the fragrance of the scent that she had worn that day,

Night and day, he looked at the river bank where they had met on a Sunday,

She came one day and his eyes sparkled with happiness once again,

He hugged her and told her that he had something important to say,

Before he could tell her anything further, she gave him a wedding card which was scheduled to take place in May,

His heart sank, his eyes were teary yet he put up a smile and congratulated her,

She said she had to leave so she could invite the other family members and friends,

He let her go into her world of happiness, a world of which he would never be a part again,

Some of his friends asked him why had he kept his feelings in his heart and silently tolerated the pain,

He smiled and said “My love didn’t need to hear the noise of her yes, her silence was enough to make me feel loved even after she left”.
