The Soldier's Defeat
The Soldier's Defeat

Thoughts were meddling my sleep,
Voices were breaking my state of limbo;
A sudden touch jerked my eyes open,
As it signalled through my nerves,
Transmitting the impulse, 'a Spider'.
Boo! A scream and the lights flashed on,
Confronting it, armed with a broom,
I Puffed out in terror as it trod forward;
Chivalrous, with the Night Prince's vile grin,
The silver Moon trespassed with a smirk.
I re
flected an indignant glare to her pride;
The crawling soldier had a sincere stare,
That held a lot of emotions behind its door;
I forsook it, clenching my fists around the broom,
Imprudent to its lady-love and its toddlers.
The battle began as the soldier paced further;
I thrashed him fiercely, butting in the silence,
The soldier layed paralysed, fragmented;
The sky began crying over his defeat,
As I buried him beneath the shade.
