The Secret We Never Found Out
The Secret We Never Found Out
Man first walked on this earth
A few million years ago.
Then came the lies, deception.
It's astounding to think as a species,
We have an incredible capacity to deceive, not just others but ourselves.
Whereas other species use deception survival and access to food and reproduction,
We on the other hand have assimilated
It is our shadow,
Making it almost second nature.
The question then arises,
Whether we are born with it
Or eventually, learned it?
You see, it's not so easy to answer.
Because
Lots of arguments can be made for
Both sides.
But I'm going to go
With the previous.
Now, if one believes
That there is a creator
Who made us,
Which by the way can easily
Be argued against,
But we must resist the temptation
And instead, ask another question.
By looking at us,
What does it tell about our creator?
Omnipotent , omniscient , all -
Good are the words
We usually associate with our creators.
But we haven't even got a fraction
Of that.
Every now and then we do see
Some actions
Which we deem godly again muddles everything.
Then there are things done by humans
Which are just unspeakable,
In some cases in the name of
So-called " religion ".
Then there's the case of presence.
" Faith is all you need," they say,
To experience god.
If so, then why humans developed rationality?
If God wanted unquestioned obedience then why create the illusion of free will?
If God wants complete devotion,
Then why create temptation?
Now some might say God created us
With good intentions
But
When we came to the world,
We became bad. Like us,
The world is also created by him,
So why did he let evil thrive?
There's another argument that it's all
An illusion.
If it is, and there's only one way out,
Then why create so many conflicting religions
(Assuming he is involved in this process) ? Atleast the end goal and the path
To achieve that goal should be clear
In everyone's mind if they want to follow.
This brings me to the final argument,
If we can't solve these questions,
Then why not ignore them?
As plausible as it sounds,
I'm afraid it's easier said than done. We still have lots of phenomena
Which are beyond our ever-expanding explanations,
So it's not easy to toss it up and go.
We have some satisfactory explanation
For some ...
Sure,
But there are many
Which are unexplained.
So,
Are we destined to be Haunted
By these questions forever?
Or
Is there an answer
But we will never find out?
