The Parting
The Parting
You stood there looking at me,
Your unshed tears I could see,
But then I held your hand,
I Said, try to understand,
People rushing all around
The train engine's whistle in the Background.
I told her you will be gone for a while,
Come on give me your bewitching smile,
You are just a phone call away,
I Will call you every day.
Then she spoke, Dad you will be alone every day,
When I am away,
The concern, the care, I could see she was sad,
A daughter's love for her Dad.
She got on to the train hiding her tears,
I turned my back not showing her my fears,
Goodbye my little one, my only Daughter,
No more will I hear your laughter,
There was one truth I hid from you,
It was wrong on my part but true,
When you come back one fact will be true,
I will not be there to recieve you.
