The Matured Childhood

All the emotions came into existence,

when I saw you next to your mom.

It gave me a promotion in life.

We ran the race for you by leaving you alone

In the safe hands of a caretaker,

So your future gets secured, in the competitive life.

In the run for livelihood, we lost our age, but we didn’t care.

We lost the love between us, but we didn’t care.

As, you defined, our life.

Our concern and sense of insecurity at times tortured you.

Words exchanged out of rage, but not out of the heart.

At times, we used to forget to pick up you from school

Due to our hectic schedule.

Sorry for that, not sure if we have been a good

Parent for you, but we just did our roles.

We have succeeded in our goals,

You have the wings to fly,

But we are too old to fly with you.

I made friends,

I am enjoying, you need not worry.

Take care of your health while running for wealth,

And be prepared for your future as well.

I am matured enough, not gazing at the entrance,

With hopes, as you did in your childhood.

If possible, bring my grandchildren once,

Wanted to share the love with them, which I couldn’t share to you.
