Maiden Of The Sea

Bellowed, the banner of gold: her hair,

the net, the rope, the secret lair,

blending in with the sand so fair.

Robes of sapphire dance upon the caves,

slashing at the rocks: the lifeless caves,

a new birth of endless graves.

Her arms bore pearls, children of the moon,

held wide as if granting a boon;

giving them away, all too soon.

Aqua eyes rein the sea’s might,

twinkle and shine, much too bright,

overpowering the Holy Seraphs of night.

A voice too warm, much like the jewels of the beach,

whistling, as if trying to preach,

to humans, who breathe above her reach.

Ripples grew from beneath her feet:

her pulse as her eternal fountain beat,

an agonizing desire, but fated never, to meet.

As the moon rose and lit the sea ablaze,

she shone with the faltering jade glaze,

shards of pure light, an interweaving maze.

After until forever ceased to be,

the banner still waved, all free.

and all that remained was the Maiden of the Sea.
