The Ice Queen

The Ice Queen

183

I fell for your icy facade; devoured me is what you did,

Sending me down the abysmal hell, your tricks were always splendid!

All the false enamor you’d woven around me like a spider does his web;

I was the fly, caught and shouting for help;

During our final moments, I never did ponder, the reason for your sudden surrender,

My heart aches with pain, from the hole you created; a gap never to be filled again…

With your decrepit memories, freezing me to sudden death

You’re the ice queen; I’m your subservient soldier-

I remember you from my periodic yearning, our soul craves to meet (I’m sure);

Like a clandestine huntress, you stole my heart; leaving only coldness to fill,

Fed on my flesh powered by devotion and sin... now acrid emptiness lies in between,

For you’re the predator and I’m the prey, laden with your thoughts now turned gray.
