The Glorious Moment

The grand Republic Day Celebrations

At the India Gate in Delhi

Were going on as usual

At the start, the tricolor

Was hoisted at the esteemed

Hands of honourable  president

Shri Ram Nath Kovind

The Much coveted gallantry awards

Were to be given for

The acts of exceptional bravery

Clad in white cloths

A young war widow

Burdened with sordid grief

Was nearing step by step

To the anxiously waiting president

The people all over the country

On T.V. and the audiences

Were witnessing the rarest

Scene of greatly moved

President wiping the tears

However, with heavy heart, hands

And the head he had to

Hand over the award to

Yet another great daughter

Of the country which

Yielded so many war heroes
