The Glass Child

They always saw 

"The good child "

"The smart child" 

"The disciplined child "

"The golden child "

"The responsible child"

"The elder child"

"The mature child"

What did the child feel though ? 

Did he/she feel the childhood 

Because all it felt like was like glass 

They all saw what was shown 

One was reflecting the other was silvered . 

Did they try to see above and beyond , what laid underneath that silver coating the black paint that laid dormant . 

They saw it was dirty and cleaned it only occasionally when it was important.  

It was their reflection but what they cared for ; was the image 

For the child it wasn't 

The sacrificing child 

Or the 

Academically gifted child 

For him/ her all it was 

The glass child .
