The Currency Laughed

Wade of currency fluttered in his hand

As his heart did a maddening dance of joy

Dreaming a world of happiness he could

Now achieve for his loving wife and kids.

Exactly as told, he did pack arms diligently

For the heavy and easy cash, he was paid

Sacks filled with stones, acid bulbs, and bricks

He packed everything without a single miss.

A brainwashed he, at the battlefield of arson

Did as he was told, throwing bombs and burning

Heartlessly, he ran over the dead and bleeding

For him, it was just a job for which he was paid.

Reaching back home he screamed, too shocked to see

The blood-soaked bodies of his wife and children

As a mute witness of all the arson and riot he did,

All his earned currency flew over the dead bodies
