The conversation
She was sitting across me a stranger,
Waiting for someone I thought.
I looked at her, smiled, she smiled back.
And our smile made us friends, I got up,
Went up to her table, sit down she said.
Coffee I asked, sure she said, I ordered.
Coffee was served, we both sipped silently.
I broke the silence, Ravi I said, I am Roshini,
Waiting for someone, I asked, yes she said,
Then asked boyfriend? Smiling she said yes,
You waiting for your girlfriend, yes I said.
The dam of silence broken, she spoke of
Her life, her ambition, her job, I too told her,
About my life, my ambition my job. I said,
Your boyfriend is late, so is your girlfriend.
She stared at me said, there is no boyfriend
I said there no girlfriend, we both laughed.
Caught in our own lies we did not mind,
Together we walked out into the night.
Then started a relationship of trust.
That began with a lie and ended in love.
It sometimes happens in life, we meet
Someone, who is unknown to us.
And fall in love with a complete stranger.
God might be thinking from heaven above,
Strange is the world of love.
