The Bonfire

After a hard days work on a chilly winter day,

The duo came home to rest a little while in their cosy bay. 

They lit a bonfire with dry sticks, leaves and hay,

And a spark, ignited the fire into a flame and crackled all the way.

Then turned into a blaze dancing with the winds sway

This is the spot where mother and child sit and play, 

While eating their supper and waiving many a stray.

The warmth slowly spreads and envelops them all the way,

Relieving all the exhaustion and pain from working all day.

The brightness around the fire, lights up their faces to say,

Your worries and problems will no longer be there to stay.

How was your day? mother asked the son in a loving way, 

All good and as usual, said the son in his typical sway.

And you mother.......asked the son in a comforting way.

With a smile on the face and tears in the eyes, her head she turned away.

Your love knows no bounds and your pain wears a mask, you don't have to say.

The mother wiped a pearl of a drop, and smiled all her tears away 

You are so caring and loving, mother, come hell or high tide day

Forget your worries and pains and let's celebrate today.

Let's soak in the warmth of the  nights silver grey,

Tomorrow will be a new dawn to start afresh, in a big way.
