MOTHERLAND MINE! (Nov 4. Theme: My Country)
MOTHERLAND MINE! (Nov 4. Theme: My Country)
Patriotic feelings for one’s own land are not hard to find
They are the veins coursing through hearts of a healthier kind.
I inhale and exhale pure and free air,
Our land wrenched freedom from a demon’s lair.
India, my country, is a land of diversities,
Unifying all paradoxes and all complexities.
The greenery in the open fields of my country,
The relations of love that exist defying all chemistry
The mighty mountains and the seven rivers flowing down,
The autumn here is more verdant than the Western brown.
We must all pledge to
lay our lives for our motherland,
Because times are trying and blasts are coming from highland,
Religions converge here mightily as nowhere else –
Together we can bring for others many death knells.
Our land had some lofty minds who brought glory
Their thoughts and deeds have been written in immortal ivory.
Freedom and independence came to us at a price
Fighters and patriots had laid their lives to bequeath an air nice
We’re living because they fed not on a pie or a cake,
We, the humble citizens, should lead others to arise and awake!
