Moonstruck

Silver strands of light rays cascading through the leaves of the trees 

Scattering in myriad ways creating psychedelic effects

Through swaying branches and leaves 

Leaving beautiful impressions of designs around, soothing to the eyes and mind 

A lovely night for the youngsters seeking bliss and delight of every kind

 

The Moon in full splendour, beaming at the lovers under the tree indulgently

With an affectionate smile and caressing looks, he says, let me keep them busy

Then he winked at the Sun and said, see how much they all love me 

For I am cool and spread a romantic aura all around with glee

You scorch and singe and sap the energy out from every cell in the body that be 

No wonder my moonlit nights are  

Longed for by poets, lovers and the carefree 

Dear Sun, you are as much needed for light, energy, and vivacity 

But my moonlit nights are a blessing to love-struck people in whatever field it be
