Stunted Growth
Stunted Growth
The hand that nurtured the seed no longer persists.
Years of caring have bygone,
But the growth is stunted!
One day,
The seed, helpless, in need...
Cried out a sigh, hoped not to bleed!
“Why, if I may ask did you plant me here?”,
I was happy in the wild, free and fragile.
Too much of anything is not good,
Your care is suffocating me,
I want to be a tree, not a bonsai.
Let me grow my roots, survive without the rain,
Unless I try, I wouldn't know if it’s my loss or gain.
You cannot last me a lifetime,
Neither can you fend for me always,
One day I will have to be alone…
Survive the cold nights and the harsh sunny days.
Stop caring if you love me enough,
I want to be a buff.
For someday, I would be the shade,
Make my roots strong and then tread,
The unknown path of life.
