Stop binding me

Yes I am girl, but that's destiny,

Enough is enough, stop binding me!

With cultures, traditions and family,

Or the biased rules of the society.

Whether as a daughter in her teens,

Or a wife wearing low waist jeans,

A mother in a designer saree,

Or just another next door granny.

It's not always about just you, 

I also am a human, dude.

My wish and my will, 

Do have equal rights too.

What I wear or what I do,

Is something, not concerned with you.

What I eat and whom I meet,

Isn't to be questioned, I repeat!

It's my choice, not yours to choose,

It's my call if I wanna let my hair loose.

Whether I want to chill and stay at home,

Or be the entrepreneur, working in Rome.

The way I dress is my point of view,

You can't be there to raise a cry or hue.

If I decide to have a drink with men,

Don't create a scene within a count of ten.

Let me live the way I want,

Don't tell me what I can or can't.

It's my life and I wish to chill,

To dance the night away and pay my bill.

I ride and drive as good as you,

And at times be better than you too.

You say you love me with all your heart,

But your restrictions tear me apart.

I have no intention to hurt anyone,

Unless I'm a target, there's no harm done.

If at all I am in a tough spot,

Trust me I won't spare any part.

Shall hit and run till the end,

To teach a lesson and make them bend.

It's a girl, a woman, a lady,

Stop staring at her, like she's something shady.

It's nice to feel free at all times,

To feel the wind and hear the chimes.

Wish the world could let me breathe free,

I hope this wish soon becomes a reality.
