Starlight in Your Hands

Starlight in Your Hands

2 mins
215

Every night, you look, you wonder,

How far are those distant stars,

You smile and reach out,

To hold its everlasting river of light,

You are near, you can almost smell its beauty,

But off you fall, You fall down the endless darkness,

Its black and dark, spiraling downwards,

Downwards, back to where you were at the beginning.

All your wishes, gone,

They were just beyond the grasp of your fingers,

And you think,

You think that everything is just a dream, it’s just an illusion,

You can’t reach out to the stars, the only thing you have ever wanted,

Is just beyond your reach, but unattainable, impossible,

The universe is playing games,

Tempting, taunting, teasing,

Telling all your goals, dreams, ambitions,

Just a waste, a lie,

Give up, You're not worth winning, achieving

The world seems to say,

At every corner you turn, every nook and every cranny,

At last its too much, being a told as useless,

So you turn back the very path, you gave up, lost,

And this time when you look at the dazzling stars,

The very stars twinkling in the churning midnight blue ocean of the sky,

You won’t leave until you have touched its beaming light,

You swim in the sky, the clouds block your way,

But you spread your wings, determined,

Determined not to stop,

You want to prove you can achieve anything,

That you are not a waste of hopes,

The clouds, the wind, the sky,

Nothing can stop you,

And finally, After endless tears, Endless years

You touch it,

The light of the stars, the fire that fuels your heart

The touch of your dreams come true, ambitions winning,

It’s beautiful, Happiness is overwhelming,

You won,

It echoes in your mind, Over and over,

You won the game the universe gave,

And you know it's not a dream, an illusion,

Because the Starlight is in your hands.
