Star World

Star World

"It leaves me feeling seasick, baby."

This is where you hold up a hope nightly.

To a sea of bright stars.

Wishing on tinder rocks burning out to embers.

And vanishing.

This is where your name is in tears.

And the eyes are wide open.

Sometimes to the sky, sometimes to fears.

Sometimes to the life you maintain.

But nothing solves.

You're still holding up that hope.

And that night is still not dawn.

It is where you sleep and it is the bed you lie on.

The hope turns into a dream.

And the shooting stars all lullaby you.

It is the night you dream of.

The solace cavern the conscious fails to see.

You hope against hope for better dreams.

But you forget every time you wake,

You forget every night for a hope's namesake.

Because, you've been hoping against hope.

Counting comets, not ready to cope,

With the sudden wanes of the moon.

For, the hope is, to hope again, soon.

"It is right here, baby."
