She
She
My dream world,
I can walk fearlessly
With my head held up high,
To buy a sanitary napkin
Not wrapped in a black sheet
I don' t be shy.
I'll explore the world
And roam around without carrying a pepper spray
For indemnity.
Door to new opportunities will open
Without having gender as a barb
Of inequity.
In reality,
As the darkness covers the empyrean,
I'm afraid to step out of my rein.
Sanitary napkins are to be wrapped in a black sheet
Because I'm not allowed to proudly say,
That I bleed.
Exploring the world is still a grail,
To carry a pepper spray along
Is an entail.
And here we are staring at our mobile screens,
And waiting to hear another victim's scream.
