The romance of yore

Was never in the fore,

For all to know 

And create a row.

There was a silence of the lover

As he met under cover,

His maiden so bright

Who was never in the light.

It took days for them to meet

And hours less to speak.

No WhatsApp, Facebook or the like

To instigate their hearts so ripe.

Letters were passed, but a few

Cause they thought if any knew

Of their love so calm and clear

Will make their lives never so dear.

Those were testing times;

Where the heart strings so fine

Were ready to collapse 

For lovers who lived in wraps.
