Retirement? Never...

Hanging up the boots, 

Just coz, I have done enough,

Retirement means that, 

For all except a few. 

Wondering who are those? 

Just look around, 

And there you find them,

Right in your homes. 

Parents, do they retire

From parenting? 

Being mom and dad, 

Oh! It's never ending. 

Their job begins before our birth, 

Continues through our childhood. 

Wait! Do I hear you ask me this :

Doesn't adulthood put a pause? 

Adulthood is for us you see, 

As they continue to be parents. 

Till the last breath and even after, 

Parents never retire.
