Reminiscence through a bubble

Scorching waves rise from the pavement.

The crows stand atop the wires,

Of the transmission tower,

Cawing in reminiscence,

Of the kid who once blew bubbles,

On a hot summer day.

One of them smiles at you

As if it was to provoke you

With its bright colors.

What do you see

Through the bubble?

Could it be the blue-purple gradient sky

In retrospective of the moment

You collided with your partner

At the brink of dawn?

Stand up.

Step forward.

Take a closer look.

Squint.

What do you see?

Are you running away?

From the bees buzzing around you

Like a honey tree?

Or is it perhaps you,

Blissfully humming a melody?

Keep your eyes on the prize.

Then take a stride to the side.

What do you see?

Notice the huge smile on the bubble

With its bright white teeth

Reflecting the sun,

Shining your life,

Before your eyes.

Follow it.

Circle around it.

Continuously.

Confuse the bubble.

As the angle changes,

Recognize its reflective scenery

Cannot keep up

With your tenacity.

Now what do you see

Through the bubble’s

Shimmering iridescent lights?
