Regret

Regret

Every night when the cold wind blows
The streets are packed with taunting foes.

The devilish look, it makes me 'afraid.
But I look aside and recall your bade.

The night, the light, the melancholy in my head.
You walked intimately towards me and I said,

"My love, you are very dear indeed,
Not to mention all the nights with me,
How we cuddled, kissed and romanced with glee,
Every part of your skin pressing over me.

But as the seasons, they changed from autumn to frost,
Then arrived spring, when I sensed a plot.
Is there someone else in your mind? I thought.

Now that I know you're only mine
My affections for you have suddenly dimed.

Apologies, my love, there's another man in my head
He is kind, if I'm not wrong, he loves me to death.

I'm so sorry, dear one, for such an untimely stray,
I'll pray,  you'll find a finer woman who'll stay"

What's with the seasons? They change with time
And so did the man who once said was mine.

But you, my love, are rightly loved
By the girl who's affections for you are always above

Who me? I'm fine.
My choices have left me alone to dine.
