I remember a man, with brown hair, engulfed by a hat

I wonder as I see him, and ask “Who is that?”

He seemed to wear a black coat and pant, and shiny black shoes

He is mysterious, and so I ask, but no one knows

Who is he who lurks by night and dawn?

But one thing I surely know, in his presence, all problems are gone

Some say he is a detective, some say he is a savior

Some say he’s an incarnation sent to be a life-improver!

Months have passed, but he still appears to be a mystery

I assumed he wanted no fame, just wanted to be a part of some memory

But I couldn’t ignore him, something always lured me to him

“Is he really the man we assume?” I often question myself about him.

But one fine day, in the beautiful hours of summer

I walked down by the street, expecting him to appear

But commotion sprouted, with some audience and cops

And there was the Mystery Man, held captive near a corpse!

I watched the scene with such surprise, like others too,

Wasn’t he so clever to fool me and you?

It was said he roamed about the street, to plan his murder

Of a young girl, to show his bravery and valor!

“I am not the man who you think I am,” he said

“Shut it, don’t speak!” shouted th

e cop

“Please, let me speak! I am a cop too”

“Not a word from you!” said the chief.

The public was in a state of utter disappointment

They hoped the world was blessed with a protector

With all faith dashed and torn like bits of paper

They felt they were destined to live in fear

I was in a state of shock, which wasn’t easy to revive

“Not all hope is lost, there is still some time,” they told

Nothing convinced me, nor awoke me

I couldn’t wake up from my stupidity!

News of the murder spread like wildfire

About the assassin and his clever plan

No one spoke much of him

He was a long-gone Mystery Man

After a few days, another news came out

But people were lit with no sense of excitement

It was about the escape of the mystery man

Who claimed to be a detective through a note!

“We found the note lie behind his prison,” said the chief

“It says he is a detective too, but no one would be fooled

He said ‘Believe me or not, I’ll finish my duty by finding the culprit ’”

The public and police burst out in laughter…

“He is the one!” they claimed and chuckled,

But a ray of hope settled in my heart’s deepest base

I believe he would solve this case!
