Rebirth
Rebirth
Free the ravens from the cage
Of insecurity in your mind.
Let the branches of past trauma
On which the birds sit in line
Break, crack, break.
Grow defined roots from the undefined
Harden and expand to mature hearts of bark
Rising above all canopies, of all heights
Let the leaves of rue and hate
Fall into autumn’s night.
For the winter will freeze warmth
To let spring give birth again to empathy, compassion and light.
