Rakshabandhan

Rakshabandhan is festival in which,

Rakhis are made and bought,

In colors that are red and rich,

Which leave us deep in thought.

Sisters tie their brothers the rakhi,

As joy spills around,

Brother then give them gifts and money,

As it says in the traditional bound.

Then sweets are given to share,

Among the excited family,

There is no hint of despair,

As they all sit merrily.

It is time to see the gifts,

Who doesn’t love this part….

Happiness spreads so swift,

In everybody’s heart.

The rakhi, the gifts, and the sweets,

How wonderful they were,

I wish it could all repeat,

And that’s how Rakshabandhan occurs.
