Raksha Bandhan

One of our favourite festivals is here,

It is not other than Raksha Bandhan my dear.

A day off in school was like a boon,

But we used to get out of the bed very soon.

Got dressed in a jiffy and sat down to decorate,

A shiny plate with tilak, diya, sweets and a special thread.

It was a normal thread with sponge, sparkle and lace,

Yet it brought a smile on everyone's face.

After devouring the laddus we used to rush to the kitchen,

To eat the puri and kheer which Maa had till now hidden.

I don't know how the years went by,

Those memories does sometimes bring a tear to my eye.

Times have changed and so have we,

 No longer we are kids jumping up and down with glee.

Our worlds have expanded with so much hustle and bustle,

New people in our lives have made our happiness double and triple.

Our bond will grow with every struggle and wrinkle,

My little brother and me in our little bubble.
