Lemonade

Lemonade

I have my ups and downs as a Mom,

Some battles I lose and some are won.

I refuse her requests and sometime say no,

I assumed she loved her daddy more.

But yesterday just out of the blue,

She approached me with smile which was rather new.

Mama, I want to be a mom some day,

And would like to be a spitting image of what you are today.

This may not be a price or an accolade,

In scorching heat this was indeed my lemonade.
