Poem- The Buddha Child
Poem- The Buddha Child
There was a boy who lived in a cave
In a mountain covered with clouds.
His family were the animals, birds, and trees,
He talked to them with ease.
He ate whatever the trees gave
Drank from rivers, slid on waterfalls.
Played with tigers, flew on eagles
Rode lion or yaks and lived with wolves
He played in the snow, enjoyed hail and storm
Traveled with birds to forests and seas.
He knew all the hidden treasures and where to find
The answers to all the mysteries of the human mind
He knew of every human life, death, and rebirth
The key to happiness and the secret to immortality.
Many people searched but none could find the key
Or see him or solve the mystery
Some were lost, most were found
Some stopped seeking him and searched around.
They climbed mountains and crossed lakes
Till they could no longer keep awake
They fell into a deep reverie
Saw their former self, past evils, and sins.
They started to seek within
And found the answers they sought without.
They saw the good in others and the evil in them
Their self in the universe and the universe in them…..
They did not have to find him-
They became him and he became them…..
