Pilgrimage Of Love
Pilgrimage Of Love
On a Broken slab I sat at the shrine of betrayal,
Gazed at the monastery of love miles apart
Amidst counterfeit sympathies under my counterpart
Both hollow and overcast
Back turned towards the placid lake
Trying to find a cure to my heartache
Closed my eyes, tears dried, pain preserved
Knitted to a tight spot where silence disturbed
Across the streets witnessed all love posters burn,
Collected the ashes in my urn
Followed melodies of the harp
A bene placito traveled amidst pine needles sharp
In my hands liaised ashes caged
Smouldering as the heap of mountains raised
Touch and talk akin two lovers, love none
Finding the truth I’m reduced to one
Every step on the immortal road
Enclosed a scenery seldom ignored
Red, blue, white on womb of green blush
A baby the soil doth fertilize, all the guests breezes ush
Bunny hops, foxtrot ; To the tunes of rumba samba
The wild rejoice, welcoming the baby at sunrise
Beyond Wildest dreams under the mighty waterfall
Where traces of love could never crawl
Grazing sweet leaves covered with dew,
Breastfed her fawn mother deer, scenery picturesque
Kept the shrine in my mind,
Sight on the abbey of love
In the blizzard struck valley I shivered,
Fluttered her wings, upsurged a dove
Paved a path through the mist
Flew around and clinched my fist
Two birds with one stone
At the holy intersection I stood alone
Finally an end to this quest,
I smiled at the deity’s door
My heart will break all walls of unrest
Would sleep in the cave of pain no more
“While a fierce wind passed by”
Thunderclap of memories and I was left to die
If its fury the wind sacrificed
I would’ve been canonized
At the same moment both roses and blood rained
Distinct aromas the two showers did carry
Took a bath- both love and pain, and paved
Two paths, one of beauty one scary
To the shimmering door both paths led
One with rose petals another with thorns dead
Tender petals tore beneath my feet sore
The holy voice aloud then roared
O Poor lover! Never betrayed
Only sin is you never stayed
To admire the beauty of the rejoicing wild,
The Sacred mother and her child
Ashes of a phoenix you caged
You‘ve lost all love in the path of this pilgrimage
Love and winds make their own way
We’re meant to breathe and move away
While the phoenix rose, ferocious it turned
In a moment the whole prison burned
Besides the slab broken I lie
Treacherous lake meets my eyes
Wide opened observing the scars
Of my burnt hands, pain sent a vicar
Preached me how all love of this world I scorned
And why I sleep today on the bed of thorns.
