"Oft in the stilly night"

Sleep-deprived or out of fright,

Loneliness embraces me,

And for kindness I plea.

Demons and witches

Impose their twitches

Crawling through the windows and swarming across the ceiling,

Sometimes they shapeshift into curtains to increase the eerie feeling.

These creatures might be past horrors or present,

Or might be an unforeseen future or an imaginary figment.

This scribbling must be the ranting of a meek child.

Can this be an utterance of one adult gone wild?
