Nation and Anti-Nation
Nation and Anti-Nation
There is this nation and there is this anti-nation
In the nation you follow plethora of gods
Recite prayers in Sanskrit, you call them puranas
One believes puranas are evidences and them it convinces
Stories are so imaginative they believe this was the history.
Your birth determines your destiny, and privileges if you deserve any.
You pay obeisance to your leader, wheeler-dealer who promises economy of certain trillions of a dollar
They get strengthened by defining their enemies
So much so that even loud speakers become their weapons
Or it could be hijab, or the language you speak or what you eat
They don’t need reason to call what you did as treason
The media you may wonder when it did become a long lost idea!
Your job is not to look for a job for the state gives you monthly ration.
If you did, didn’t find any, Gods have decided what is good in your situation.
In the anti-nation you may just believe in a single god.
You may eat beef and this may bring you grief
If you make a speech, the state some lessons, you it will teach.
You believe in diversity and speak languages many
You party with the opposition, and you can’t be entitled to parity.
You may be put in jail, but can’t get a bail and you the state did nail.
Judges will dither, wonder whether it is treason, sometimes they get deterred.
But if you believe other side is greener, Cross the border, hold on to your life dearer.
In both these nations religion and God play with your mind and with tethers keep you in a bind.
Like an elephant you are trained and in your mind it is all ingrained.
