My Light, My Sister

Looking at the horizon, 

Wondering when I'll be there

Hearing the cries of the seagulls 

Or the wailing of the whales

Singing to the tunes of the dolphins 

Embracing their tales

Hoping one day,

l'll be there to witness it again.

She looked at me, her eyes glistening with worry

Paving the way for my arduous journey

Bearing the scars that life has entailed

She guided me so i dont go astray

Preventing those waves from crashing again

She held me close against her embrace

Seeing her waving at me with her radiant smile

I stopped and wondered away a mile

Will she come?

Or will she stay?

Or has life already taken her far away

Then why did she go through such lengths?

Guiding my way for the life ahead?

The enchanting sun reflected in her eyes

Will I again never be able to witness that sight?

The serenity of the shore made me scared

I want to hold that hand again 

Those hands that held me through those tedious times

Those hands that made me realize who i am.

I ran and ran with all my might 

Trying my best to not lose her sight

I could see her standing alone again 

Reminiscing those memories with no one to share

I embraced her strong yet fragile back from behind

Clutching those hands with all my might

She turned and smiled and whispered my name

I want to be with my sister forever again.
