My Guiding Stars

From the time I took my first breath

Till the time I take this one,

I met

Those who taught me the rudiments

Expanding my horizon,

And many of those who didn't 

But from whom I managed to learn,

And those who made me what I am,

From the first dodgy steps

Till I learned to use them

Well enough to stand on my own,

My heart bows in gratitude

And my hands clasped in reverence

To wish them a happy teachers day,

For being my guiding stars.
