Before I Fade
Before I Fade
Wish I could be
The stream that I was
Before I met the sea.
The shimmering waves
In the resplendent sun
Used to be my mane.
My gushings and rushings
Was the background music
To those multitude
That abode the green trees
Which swayed in harmony
That made them sing
To the cool breeze that swept by.
O wind! Wish
You could siphon off
The unwanted gifts off my chest
That relieved the giver but
Stole my vivaciousness and
Burdened my flow.
As I meander
Towards the sea,
The murky gifts
Silhouette my desire,
To be the best as I can be
As I fade away in the sea.
