Moonlight Sonata
Moonlight Sonata
I saw her for the first time at night,
Standing with her friend at the bus stand,
Talking animatedly to her friend;
I was staring at her she paused in her talk,
To look at me then smiled, which stopped
My heart, and made my senses reel in
Intoxication, for a moment I seemed lost.
On coming back to my senses, I looked,
For her, she had left, was not to be seen.
In anticipation, I went there the next night,
And the next till the timelines blurred, to
Catch a glimpse of her beauty, her smile,
time they says heals all wounds, in time
I too forgot, went about my life,
Followed the routine of waiting for bus.till,
One day saw her friend, I went up to her,
Your friend I said not to be seen with you.
She looked at me and you are she asked,
Saw your friend, talking to you sometime back
And fell in love with her, been looking ever since
She looked at me with tears in her eyes.
She is no more, passed away an accident,
I went blank, felt light-headed in disbelief,
When I came back to, her friend too had left,
I felt In those beautiful moments, when
She smiled at me that night, the memory,
Of that smile, imprinted itself in mind,
As she stood there in the crowd,
But to me, she was standing all alone,
With only me at her side, only she and me,
Bathed in the beauty of moonlight,
Made me sing a song of love, and,
Write a moonlight Sonata in her memory.
