Monsoon Diaries
Monsoon Diaries
My body begged for relief from the sweltering heat
It had become a burning seat
The tyranny of summer frailed my soul and mind
Making my body a barren land
The canker sores inflicted pain
Neglecting my tears with disdain
I looked up at the sky
And asked the rain God why?
Just when I thought I was slipping into a gloom
There came the saviour monsoon
The hazy clouds danced together in bliss
And unleashed their energy to show their prowess
The coolness of the drops clung to my body
To apply medicine to make me steady
Plants and trees waved at the sky
Showing their gratitude with sheer joy
The dead land sprang back to action
Thanks to rain God, it can again function
Tears subsided giving rise to smiles
The memorable pictures sneaked into the monsoon diaries
I bathed in the gift offered by Monsoon
And found the lost peace in its cocoon
