Memories!

As I clemently touched the picture in the frame

And decided to walk down the memory lane

Those little fingers sneaked up on me

As she saw the picture, she asked "WHO IS HE?"

With a wrying heart and a smiling face

All I could respond was, " He is just another familiar face!"

Someone close to my heart yet far away from me

Someone who couldn't care less about me

He was an infection that sprang up day by day

A desire that all my desires could not allay

He is whose memories have kept me chained

They have made me ragged, exhausted and drained

She stood there listening all puzzled and confused

Unable to understand she left the room

Leaving me in the dark of the night

Where my life was darker than the night.
