Mahatma Gandhi- A Visionary's Life
Mahatma Gandhi- A Visionary's Life
Born to a humble family on October the second,
In times where liberty and swaraj to every Indian beckoned
In a time of turmoil, disarray, rage, and delusion
Was born a light, a visionary to turn conflict to resolution.
His unflinching approach towards honestly began from his youth
When he swore never to waver from the path of truth
Upon becoming a lawyer, he traveled to South Africa for a case
Only to be shocked at its inhuman apartheid and views on race
For years he strove to improve the country’s dire situations
Forming organizations and campaigns even when met with derision.
After many years, he returned to India in 1915,
Whereupon he joined Congress to show all of India his dream.
Bit by bit, he brought his dream of swaraj by Satyagraha to reality,
All through non-violence and peace, never compromising on his morality,
He led India into a golden age of freedom and prosperity.
“An age for an eye only leaves the whole world blind”
The symbol of peace, he is a beacon of hope and India’s everlasting might,
He paved the path to freedom, illuminating the darkest nights,
Bapu, as we fondly call him, shall forever live on in our hearts and minds.
