Summertime Sea
Summertime Sea
Grains of burning sand shift under my bare feet
As I dash towards an umbrella to escape the brilliant heat
The sweet smell of sunscreen wafts up my nose
While mom reminds me - yet again-
Not to miss that spot on my toes
Armed against the sun I stride out onto the beach
Walking past the laughing children and their babbling, chattering speech
My eyes shut as a misty breeze caresses my face
I slip into the cool waters and lose myself in its embrace.
