Hope - The Answer

They grope about in the darkness

Desperately seeking an answer, a solution

Until one by one they fall prey

To despondency, faithlessness and depression

The ruthless shadows strike out

And groans of despair echo all around

The inky darkness offers no respite

As life is snuffed out with the darkest night

And yet-

And yet a fire continues to burn

Flickering, yet steady …

For better times it yearns

With hope’s true light,

It drives away the night

It shines the way, leads the path

Out of the deathly confusion

Towards the resolution

Hope leads the wa

Out of utter disbelief, faith sprouts

Like the first green shoots from the dry parched ground

The stream of hope nourishes all creation

Out of the primeval confusion, arises the solution

Found deep within us, yet hidden

By our own hopelessness and pessimism

By our grim and cynical take on life

That plunges us into violence and strife

Picking out the problems from the solution

Drowning in the murky sea of confusion

Rise from these chains that bind us

Follow the path with hope and trust

Which lies within us, within reach

But only-

When we Seek!
