Magical Lamp and Me
Magical Lamp and Me
'Twas a bright sunny morning,
Was back from some shopping,
With lots on mind,
When there started a blowing of the wind.
Suddenly saw something shining,
With mud and a golden lining,
'Twas a golden lamp,
Who knows maybe a Magical one.
Picked it up for fun,
And again rubbed it just for fun,
'Lo behold there came out a Djinn,
Everything came to a standstill.
He granted me three wishes,
Like Alladin and his wishes,
Didn't know what to ask,
But he yet again coaxed me to ask.
I asked for
Safety on the roads after dusk,
And in the nights,
He said,
"Your leaders will take care of it."
I asked for,
Relief from this pandemic,
He said,
"Your leaders will take care of it."
Yet again I asked for,
A better leader,
He said,
"You should have taken care of it."
Saying this he vanished,
Leaving me behind to think,
Do we need Magic?
Do we need a Djinn?
To give us what we want,
To give us a better today,
And aim for a better tomorrow.
Let us do it ourselves,
Start by choosing better leaders,
To take us to better today,
And bring in a better tomorrow
And not keep wishing for,
A Magical Lamp and its 3 wishes.
