Love That Choked
Love That Choked
He tied my heart on a leash
And owned the other end.
Calculated the lux of my smile,
Weighed my words in grams,
Measured my conversations in meters,
Categorized my past into eras.
He took another leash,
To bind my dreams.
Boundaries were set in white,
Directions in yellow,
Red meant halt and on some days,
I wore a black eye.
He called it love,
Chaining my heart on a rope,
Patenting my dreams,
Parading my subservience.
A love that choked,
Till I choked him back.
