Somewhere Between.

Somewhere Between.

       Somewhere Between.

Somewhere between laughing till I cried,
And holding back my tears,
I realised that it was okay to cry.

Somewhere between holding on,
And letting go,
I realised that I'd be stronger,
If I let go someone who didn't value me.

Somewhere between fake smiles and Hellos,
I figured out that silence was more powerful than words would ever be.

Somewhere between drowning,
And eventually making my way to the shore,
I realised that I would have to stay afloat,
Even when I was alone.

Somewhere between falling in love,
And having my heart broken,
I realised that I wouldn't have to try so hard,
To make the right person stay.

Somewhere between trying to be someone I wasn't,
And pleasing somebody else,
I realised that what I needed more than anything,
Was to be loved for who I really was.

Somewhere between doubting myself,
And regaining confidence,
I realised that I wouldn't ever be likeable,
If I didn't love myself.

Somewhere between accepting someone who didn't matter,
To finding friends who really cared,
I realised how empty my life had been, without them.

Somewhere between deserting people because of their flaws,
To accepting them for who they really were,
I realised that I was flawed too.

Somewhere between letting go of opportunities,
And regretting the chances I never took,
I realised that I would never live fully,
Until I took risks.

Somewhere between giving up on my dreams and goals,
Because people told me I wasn't good enough,
To living my dreams everyday,
I realised that nobody's validation mattered,
Except for my own.

Somewhere between my first breath and my last,
I think I'll make enough beautiful memories.
