Lockdown Introspection

Lockdown Introspection

It all started as a time of rejoice,

Schools closed making us feel nice,

We sat there elated making noise,

Until we learnt the severe price,

We’d paid not once but twice,

Everyone halted with poise,

And by then there wasn’t any choice,

Groceries, fruits and even spice,

Had to be bought only after seeking permission and multiple tries,

We usually met cousins and friends over french fries,

But now it was all through a device,

What a huge sacrifice!

For ignoring nature’s cries

I once said that virtual world comes at a price,

We felt it was all silly and not wise

Until covid yelled out - “Surprise!

I’m out here in disguise”.

Now we’re all at the mercy of digital mice,

driving us and never failing to entice,

History we’ve created standing united in one voice,

SO WHAT! If the virtual world is our only hope and source of advice!

After all we created technology for sustaining beautiful ties,

Between relatives, friends and you my cutie pies
