Letter to My Dad
Letter to My Dad
When I was born,
They said I was scrawny,
You said,
I was your splitting image.
When I grew up,
I was still your image,
Your eyes, your features,
Your nature, your temper.
As I grew up,
I spread my wings,
And left the nest,
You were by my side,
With your advice.
You were my biggest critic,
My best boss,
You taught me to be tough,
And face tougher challenges.
But then I grew up,
And thought,
Why should you treat me as a child,
Why should you scold me like a child.
You asked me to call,
I rarely did,
I spoke to Mom,
Shared my thoughts with her,
With you,
I rarely did.
When now I wish,
To talk and share my thoughts,
You are nowhere near me,
But wherever you are,
Please remember,
Dad,
You are my biggest hero,
And my greatest critic.
