Lap Of Nature
Lap Of Nature
Oh, Mother! let me lie on your benevolent lap,
As the golden rays of the mighty sun
Shimmer through the fluttering flap
Of leaves green and branches brown.
Oh, Mother! Let me feast my eyes
On the tiny rivulets that gurgle and stream
Down the mountain slopes of snow and ice
To the valley of colorful flowers that gleam
With dew on their soft petals rise
To give me a glimpse of my favorite dream
Of seeing you in all your majestic splendor.
Oh, Mother! Let me walk on the green fields
Where fronds sway to the gentle breeze,
Where birds sing songs in tune with keys
Where the myriad colors of dawn trapeze
To draw an Aphrodite image in golden hues.
