The festival of lights

Diwali has come.

The sweet smell of flowers,

For people who are close and dear.

The gorgeous array of colours,

We pray to gods, Diwali is here.

The streets shine

With candle light,

The festive lamps

To all delight.

 

Elders exchange

Gifts and sweets,

With love each one

To other greets.

Triumph of good

Over evil it shows,

Diwali, the festival

Everyone knows.

Children are out

With crackers in hands,

The fireworks sound

like musical bands.

With happiness to all
